This was my second time at the XP Game Developers Summit. And as always, it was amazing, this is the best opportunity that I have every year to go network with people. And it is always fun and friendly and inclusive in a way that I just don't find in a lot of other conferences. I highly recommend the XP game developers summit to anyone who is in the industry, looking to get into the industry or looking to expand their current business into Canada.

I thought it was very easy to meet people for business relations and just getting to know other gamers alike. both those were, were really well and, uh, the, the tools that they had to know what was going on one time were really, really slick. easy to know where I got to be, where I want to be at any time.

XP 2023 from a Speaker
What did you like best about the event?
The event was packed, and people were very active in networking, trying games, and attentive to the audience. The staff were friendly and accommodating.
What could the organizers do to improve the event?
I feel that there were a lot of good things happening at the same time. The rooms felt very far and disconnected from each other.

The event was well put together, with a good lineup of guests and panels. I especially loved seeing the showcase of Canadian games. There was some slight confusion from staff/volunteers on-site regarding my media pass -- I had to go to a few people to figure that out. Otherwise, it all went well.
What did you like best about the event?
The Canadian games showcase. Something like that is sorely lacking in Canada, so it was nice to see it here.
What could the organizers do to improve the event?
Better communication/organization regarding how to acquire my media pass. Everyone was friendly, but it could have been just a bit smoother.

XPGD = A must attend games conference
What did you like best about the event?
I liked the IO Mixer and the variety of panel topics best. I appreciated that the panels included business and social needs for game design and running studios.
What could the organizers do to improve the event?
I wish people had used the meet2match app for scheduling meetings more. Perhaps there is some way the organizers could encourage that? (For reference, more people messaged me on LinkedIn for meetings instead - which was ok - but not as convenient since my schedule wasn't on LinkedIn.)

An event with great potential heading in the right direction that I'm excited to support and see grow!
What did you like best about the event?
The best part of the event was networking and meeting all the people in our local industry. I love the idea is integrating XP with other events and creating a more significant industry event to attract more people and show off how great the Canadian game industry is. The location was also great and very convenient in terms of travel, though food options were a little slim. Kudos to the Problematic Culture talk - I found that one very impactful and informative!
What could the organizers do to improve the event?
- Many of the talks and panels centred around the consumer's experience. It would be great to see more words geared towards those in the industry that work on the production side (actual creation and running the business of the games, not just adjacent businesses such as esports, content creation, etc.) - The streams available for the digital passes were not played on time or played completely different streams than was listed - The website was not completely updated with every talk/panel happening, which caused people to miss things that they may have been interested in attending - Feedback I received from a speaker was that it would be great to have a camera that shows the audience so that they could see who they were talking to - Better integration with the other events happening that week (CGA, IO Connect Mixer, etc.). The different levels of tickets were confusing, though I understand this may not be the fault of XP's organization. Time-wise, I think it would be appreciated if all organizers would consider the time in-between events that attendees have to recharge or get ready for the next thing. While the whole week was a blast, it was very tiring by the end.

The summit made it easy to talk to people and schedule.
What did you like best about the event?
The size of the event was big enough that I felt like there was lots to take in but not so much that I felt overwhelmed.
What could the organizers do to improve the event?
Have the AV setups worked out sooner and better sound separation between rooms.

I was not able to commit to attending this event. The scheduling was not up promptly, nor were any speakers confirmed before early bird registration.
What did you like best about the event?
The location of Westin Harbor Hotel is excellent—an ideal mix of development and creative esports tracks.
What could the organizers do to improve the event?
Career Fair and recruitment from AAA and indie developers. More extensive studio presence, whether in person or via remote.
