Good networking experience. Good session on AI.
What did you like best about the event?
A dedicated session on AI in photonics. Good network experience. Wide topic area covered.
What could the organizers do to improve the event?
Maybe consider rotating the location to the east coast and west coast. Possibly even abroad locations.

Catching up on the latest Technology
What did you like best about the event?
This event provided a forum for excellent talks on the latest in space optics, metrology, and the use of advanced optical technologies to do groundbreaking work. Few other events cover a comprehensive range of applications, from solar energy to new tools to deep space exploration.
What could the organizers do to improve the event?
From my perspective, the plenary presentations provide an extensive view of significant technical advances. Adding keynotes to serve that purpose on an area-by-area basis would expand the coverage of those plenaries.

Enjoyable but pricy
What did you like best about the event?
I am meeting collaborators and new people, getting new ideas, and expanding collaboration.
What could the organizers do to improve the event?
There were too many parallel sessions with quite close topics that were running at the same time.

Overall, it is an intense experience, but it could be more welcoming for junior researchers.
What did you like best about the event?
The networking was vital, and the technical execution was quite good. The speakers who did attend were of generally relatively high quality.
What could the organizers do to improve the event?
The conference suffers from a very top-heavy attendance...very few junior people participate (this is both, I think, a function of the schedule and cost), so the recruiting and other opportunities there are limited.

It was a wonderful experience, especially with all SPIE personnel working diligently around the clock to reschedule talks, mainly due to cancellations caused by the hurricane.
What did you like best about the event?
The setting, the talks, and the receptions were always as usual. Every session was clearly marked out with TV monitors.
What could the organizers do to improve the event?
I would still like to have paper copies of the conference event book. It is much easier to go from page 1 to 100, flipping pages instead of clicking a hundred buttons. I understand that this has been done with conservation in mind. Maybe a question can be asked at registration, and the book can be given out to only those requesting it.

A wonderful, enriching experience with great presentations, interesting exhibitors, and key plenaries!
What did you like best about the event?
In the face of an incoming hurricane, the staff worked miracles to preserve virtually all of the convention!
What could the organizers do to improve the event?
Have more continuity between the telescope tract here and even year Telescope Conference.
