"INCLUSION was a wonderful place to learn and gain new perspectives."

The location at the Gaylord Rockies was incredible, and the flow of events was perfect. Everything was well-planned and well-organized. The app was a perfect additional tool for connecting with other participants and creating my agenda each day.

As someone who works outside of HR, but in collaboration with human resource leaders attending SHRM Inclusion 2024 was an incredible opportunity for me to sit down with many individuals across a variety of industries to understand the true challenges taking place for them and how we can create collaborative solutions. That really address the issues being faced at all levels of organizations and industries, from individuals to teams to C-suite leadership and how How important it is to build collaborative solutions together that can be carried back to the workplace to make the changes that are. Desired and needed in the world, the business world today.

INCLUSION was a wonderful place to learn and gain new perspectives.
What did you like best about the event?
The location at the Gaylord Rockies was incredible, and the flow of events was perfect. Everything was well-planned and well-organized. The app was a perfect additional tool for connecting with other participants and creating my agenda each day.
What could the organizers do to improve the event?
They should not have it over election day. There was a palpable energy on Tuesday that had to be addressed at the start of each session to bring attendees present and address the 'elephant in the room'. On Wednesday, in the aftermath of the results, the energy of the event was similar to a funeral.

SHRM Inclusion is one of the highlights of my year.
What did you like best about the event?
Networking with other professionals and champions in the inclusion, diversity, equity and accessibility space.
What could the organizers do to improve the event?
Fewer concurrent sessions would allow for better participation. There tends to be overlap in the sessions, and as a speaker, I'd much prefer a full room.

SHRM Inclusion fell short of expectations, lacking in engaging content and meaningful learning opportunities.
What did you like best about the event?
Networking with others in the industry and making connections to learn more from those individuals/organizations.
What could the organizers do to improve the event?
The organizers should ensure that the speakers and content provided and shared are more than just high-level. We are professionals within DEI and should be learning how to expand our reach and impact, not being told the basics of DEI. The organizers should also vet the speakers better, a lot of the speakers did not advertise their content accurately, which is disappointing when you realize it because there would be 6 other sessions you could have gone to.
